Daniel Stegos is a New England native, born in Wallingford, Connecticut. His family’s farm and rural surroundings have always inspired his brush to paint realism in wildlife and nature art. He is an award winning graduate from Paier College of Art. He has entered shows and has been a gallery member throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island and in Georgia. He has been honored with multiple judges’ choice awards at Gallery53 in Meriden, CT. The artist’s first solo show came in 2002 at the Mary Lou Fischer Gallery in Guilford, CT. He had two solo shows at the Mill House Gallery in Essex, CT in 04 and 07. He was part of a two artist exhibit at Choate Rosemary Hall in 05. He has shown, taught, and been an in-house artist for the Florence Griswald Museum in Ole Lyme, CT from 05-09. He was honored to join the Festival of Arts Show in Cumming, GA 2015-17 and honored with the FUMC judge’s choice award in 2016. Daniel has illustrated children books, done spot advertisements, and logo designs for companies and publications including the Smithson Oceanic and Backyard collections, RSVP the directory of Illustration, Book Surge Publishers, and Della Femina Advising. He painted a series of murals at the Connecticut Children’s Museum, along with several elementary schools in Connecticut and one in Georgia. He taught at the Guilford Arts Center, the Tabor Community Arts Center, the Florence Griswald Museum, St. Mary’s School , St. Francis & St. Rose of Lima School , and Choate Rosemary Hall. He is currently teaching Art at McGinnis Woods Country Day School in Alpharetta, GA. He lives in the wildlife-filled pine forests of Canton, Georgia with his wife and two children.
